DroveDVD
The Drove
THE DROVE - a re-creation of an 18th century cattle drove from Scotland to London’s Smithfield Market.

On a drizzly afternoon in 1985 a little group of men walking behind a herd of hill cattle, mainly galloways and highlanders, were setting out on an adventure.

Tom Purdham the Cumbrian fell farmer, Ian Husband Scottish Director of a meat processing company and well known broadcaster Eric Robson, the Borderer, were embarking on a squabbling 500 mile walk from Wigtownshire in South West Scotland to Smithfield Market in London.
